Video storage

Your videos stay with you

An hour of flight weighs several gigabytes. Waypoint360 does not lock it away: you choose where it lands, on your own account.

The principle

Waypoint360 keeps the record of your flights — dates, tracks, reports — and deposits the heavy files wherever you decided. Cutting the link erases nothing: the videos are already with you, on an account you own.

S3-compatible storage

S3 is the common language of object storage. Anything that speaks it will do: a NAS in the office, or the host of your choice — European if you want one.

  • You provide a bucket and an access key. Waypoint360 writes there, and reads nothing else.
  • The upload is direct: the file goes from your machine to your storage, without passing through our servers.
  • A NAS is a perfect fit: no subscription, and the video never leaves your walls.

api.video — host and stream

When a video is meant to be watched and shared, not merely archived, it needs a service that transcodes and streams it. api.video does that from Bordeaux: the company joined the OVHcloud group in February 2025.

  • The subscription is yours: the quota, the invoice and the videos belong to you.
  • A player ready to share, with support for 360° panoramic video.
  • Your key never leaves our servers: every upload goes through a short-lived token.

Google Drive and Google Photos

Available, and convenient if your teams already work there. These are US services: we say so rather than leave it unsaid, so the choice is made knowingly.

How to choose

Archive and keep control: S3, on a NAS or with a host. Stream and share: api.video. Work with tools already in place: Google. Nothing is final — the destination is set per content type, and can be changed whenever you like.

Automatic deposit and permissions are described in detail on Connected services.

Frequently asked questions

Does Waypoint360 keep a copy of my videos?

The original file is deposited with the destination you chose. Waypoint360 keeps only what it needs to show it in your library: the media record and, depending on the destination, a thumbnail.

What happens if I change destination?

Files already deposited stay where they are: they belong to you. The change applies only to later uploads.

Do I have to pay an extra subscription?

With a host, yes: the account is yours, and so is the invoice. A NAS you already own costs nothing more. Better to know before connecting.
