Roof inspection

Drone roof inspection

A drone photographs the whole roof from above and up close, without anyone climbing on it: useful before a repair, after a storm, or to document a claim.

What you get

  • Photos of every slope, ridge, flashing and gutter.
  • Close-ups of damage, with the location on the roof.
  • On request, a measurement of the roof surfaces.

What to check before you hire

  • A remote pilot certificate with a small UAS rating: flying a drone for a business requires one (14 CFR 107.12).
  • Recent knowledge: the pilot must have passed the test or completed recurrent training within the last 24 calendar months (14 CFR 107.65).
  • Insurance: ask for a certificate of insurance that names the work you are hiring for.
  • The deliverables in writing: formats, resolution, and when you will receive them.

What it costs

Operators quote each job. The price depends on the size of the site, access, the number of flights and the deliverables you ask for. Describing the job precisely is the fastest way to comparable quotes.
